EEG Neurofeedback
EEG neurofeedback is offered as a potential treatment for many illnesses. It is not available on the NHS in the UK, but is offered privately. Some people have paid at least £8,000 for EEG neurofeedback to treat nystagmus.
Over the years, many people have contacted me about EEG neurofeedback as a possible treatment for nystagmus. People who have tried it have given very mixed reports, ranging from improved vision in some cases to not sure to definitely no change.
Unfortunately, there has never been an independent scientific study into EEG Neurofeedback for nystagmus. Without such peer review, medical and scientific advisers to the UK Nystagmus Network are unable to comment publicly on EEG Neurofeedback. Consequently, the UK Nystagmus Network is not able to recommend EEG Neurofeedback as a possible treatment for nystagmus.
