Apart from writing for business and government clients, I’m involved in a range of paid and unpaid work in the voluntary sector, mostly related to visual impairment. The paid work for charities is a mix of training and writing.
On the unpaid side, I write for several newsletters and occasionally advise on media matters. I am also a member of a number of committees, including:

- Institute of Optometry Research and Ethics Committee. London
- Research Ethics Committee, Department of Optometry & Vision Sciences, Cardiff University
